Today you received your final James Baldwin essay, "If Black English Isn't a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is?"
You read and annotated the essay. Then, in small groups, you worked on identifying key features of a couple of paragraphs, as well as identifying central ideas or arguments. Each group then presented its findings to the class. If you were absent, there is a copy of the essay for you in your Google Drive. You can learn about the context of the essay by reading this article from the New York Times: Tomorrow Ms. Buckner will be here to help you work on your high school and beyond plans.
